Our top Priority is your privacy. This page is used to inform visitors regarding our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Information if anyone decides to use our Service. If you choose to use our Service, then you agree to the collection and use of information in relation to this policy.

1. Information Collection and Use

Local Data Storage: The core functionality of SlimeSpec relies entirely on local storage. Any data, content, or preferences you create or input into the app are stored locally on your device. We do not have access to this data, nor do we transmit, store, or process this data on any external servers owned or operated by us. Because your data is stored locally, you maintain complete control over it. Uninstalling the app or clearing the app’s cache/data from your device settings will permanently delete this locally stored data.

2. Third-Party Services and In-App Purchases

While we do not collect personal data on our own servers, our app utilizes third-party services to handle in-app purchases and subscriptions. These services may collect information used to identify you, process your payments, and manage your subscription status.

RevenueCat: We use RevenueCat to manage our in-app purchases and subscriptions. When you make a purchase, RevenueCat receives receipt data from the app store (Apple App Store or Google Play Store) to validate the purchase and grant you access to premium features. RevenueCat may collect anonymous user IDs, device information, and purchase history.

App Stores (Apple & Google): All financial transactions are processed securely by the respective app stores (Apple App Store for iOS devices, Google Play Store for Android devices). We never see, collect, or store your credit card information, billing address, or payment details.

3. Log Data and Analytics

We do not use external analytics or crash tracking software that collects personally identifiable information. If the app crashes, your device’s operating system may generate an anonymous crash report, which you can choose to share with us through Apple or Google’s standard developer diagnostic tools.

4. Security

We value your trust in providing us with your information. Because your primary data is stored locally on your device, the security of that data relies heavily on your device’s security protocols (such as passcode, Face ID, or fingerprint authentication). We encourage you to keep your device secure.

5. Your Data Protection Rights Under CCPA, CPRA, and CalOPPA

If you are a California resident, you are granted specific rights regarding access to your personal information under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), its amendment, the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), and the California Online Privacy Protection Act (CalOPPA).

Because SlimeSpec is built with a privacy-first, local-storage architecture, we do not collect, store, sell, or share your primary app data.

Under the CCPA and CPRA, you have the following rights:

The Right to Know: You have the right to request information about the categories and specific pieces of personal data we have collected about you over the past 12 months. (As stated, your core data is local, and we do not collect it).
The Right to Delete: You have the right to request the deletion of your personal data. Because your data is stored locally, you can exercise this right at any time by uninstalling the app or clearing the app’s data on your device.
The Right to Correct (CPRA): You have the right to request the correction of inaccurate personal information. You can edit any of your data directly within the SlimeSpec app.
The Right to Opt-Out of Sale or Sharing: We do not sell or share your personal data to third parties. Thus, there is no need to opt-out.
The Right to Limit the Use of Sensitive Personal Information (CPRA): We do not collect or process sensitive personal information on our servers.
The Right to Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your consumer privacy rights.

Under CalOPPA, we make the following disclosures:

Anonymous Access: Users can visit our app and website anonymously.
Do Not Track (DNT) Signals: Because SlimeSpec does not track its users over time and across third-party websites to provide targeted advertising, we do not respond to Do Not Track (DNT) signals.
Policy Changes: You will be notified of any Privacy Policy changes on our Privacy Policy page.
Reviewing Data: You can review and change your personal data natively within the app interface.

If you wish to exercise your California privacy rights concerning your financial transactions or subscription status, please submit those requests directly to the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, as they hold and control that data.

6. Other US State Privacy Rights

Depending on your state of residence, including but not limited to Virginia (VCDPA), Colorado (CPA), Connecticut (CTDPA), Utah (UCPA), Texas (TDPSA), and others, you may have specific rights regarding your personal data.

Because SlimeSpec operates entirely on a local-storage architecture, we do not collect, process, sell, or use your personal data for targeted advertising or profiling. As a resident of these states, your rights include:

The Right to Access and Data Portability: You can access and export your data directly within the app.
The Right to Correction and Deletion: You can edit your data in the app, or permanently delete it by uninstalling the app or clearing its local cache.
The Right to Opt-Out: Because we do not sell your personal data or process it for targeted advertising, there is no need to opt-out.

For requests concerning your financial and subscription data, please contact the Apple App Store or Google Play Store directly, as they process those transactions.

If you are a resident of the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom, you have certain data protection rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the UK GDPR. We aim to take reasonable steps to allow you to correct, amend, delete, or limit the use of your Personal Data. However, because our Service is designed with a privacy-first, local-storage architecture, we do not collect, store, or process your primary app data on our servers. Therefore, the way you exercise your GDPR rights is primarily handled directly on your device.

The Right to Access, Update, or Delete: You maintain complete control over the data you input into the Service. You can access, update, or delete your information directly within the app’s interface. Because we do not store this data, we cannot perform these actions for you.
The Right to Erasure (Right to be Forgotten): You can permanently delete all your locally stored personal data by uninstalling the app from your device or clearing the app’s data in your device settings.

Regarding In-App Purchases (RevenueCat & App Stores): For data processed by our third-party payment and subscription provider (RevenueCat) and the respective app stores (Apple or Google), the legal basis for processing this information is the Performance of a Contract (to provide you with the premium features you purchased).

If you wish to exercise your rights regarding your purchase history, subscription status, or payment data, you must submit those requests directly to the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, as they are the data controllers for your financial transactions.

8. International Privacy Rights (Including PIPEDA and LGPD)

If you are a resident of Canada, Brazil, or other jurisdictions with comprehensive data protection laws, you are granted specific rights regarding your personal information.

Consistent with our privacy-first approach, we do not collect, transfer, or store your primary app data on our servers. You maintain total control over your information locally on your device. You can exercise your rights to access, rectify, and erase your data directly through the app’s interface or by uninstalling the app from your device.

9. Data Retention and Appeals

Data Retention: Because SlimeSpec stores data locally, we retain your information only as long as the app remains installed on your device. For data processed by third-party services (RevenueCat and App Stores), data is retained according to their respective retention policies to fulfill legal obligations and manage your subscriptions.

Right to Appeal: If you have made a request regarding your data privacy and believe it was not adequately addressed, you have the right to appeal our decision. Please contact us at support@slimespec.com with the subject line “Privacy Appeal.” We will respond to your appeal within 45 days.

10. Children’s Privacy

These Services do not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13 years of age. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information (for example, through an app store purchase), please contact the respective app store to manage those transactions.

11. Camera & Photo Library Access

The App requires access to your device’s camera to function. Here is how that access is used:

Purpose
The camera is used solely to capture images for storage within the App’s interface.

Processing
All image processing happens locally on your device.

Privacy
We cannot see, access, or share the photos you take. They remain under your total control.

Again, SlimeSpec uses your camera to capture vehicle records. Photos are stored locally on your device and are never uploaded to our servers or shared with third parties.

12. User Responsibility: Protecting Your Privacy

While the App stores all data locally and securely on your device, we encourage you to be mindful of the information contained within the images you capture.

Redacting Personal Information
Before taking or storing photos of documents (such as vehicle titles, registration, or maintenance receipts), we strongly recommend redacting or “blacking out” sensitive personal details. This includes your home address, social security numbers, and financial information.

Transfer of Ownership
If you intend to show the App to a potential buyer or transfer your vehicle to another person, remember that any images you have stored will be visible to them if they have access to your device.

Sanitize Before Sale
Before handing over any records, please review your stored images and delete any that contain information you do not wish to share with the new owner.

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Thus, you are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. These changes are effective immediately after they are posted.
